About Us

Our Mission & Vision

We are the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of P.S. 384Q - Hunters Point Elementary School. Our mission is to empower each child to achieve academic excellence and provide a foundation to become engaged and responsible community members. Through the enrichment of our school’s curriculum, the PTA strives to ensure an inclusive environment that fosters creativity, collaboration and a love of learning.

 What We Do

Our PTA has an active board that helps to raise funds for our school, support school wide initiatives and positively contribute to the sense of community within our school. As a parent/guardian of a child at P.S. 384, you are automatically a member of the PTA and have voting privileges as outlined in the PTA’s bylaws! We encourage you to take an active role in the PTA by volunteering your talents and time any way you can. At P.S. 384, our PTA works to:

  • Create mutual support and understanding between home and school for a well-rounded experience for our students.

  • Provide a means for keeping parents informed of school activities, programs, and other opportunities for parent service.

  • Assist the school in meeting the students’ academic success, primarily through but not limited to: fund-raising activities, community outreach, family events, and other academic events throughout the school year.

Our Story

How it all began

Founded in September 2018, the P.S. 384Q PTA has been an integral part of our school's journey, evolving alongside the institution itself. Initially established when the school resided at a different location, the PTA began as a small, close-knit community, organizing events such as movie nights, bake sales and lemonade stands. As the school's needs expanded along with a growing student population, we transitioned to our current state-of-the-art facility. Over time, the PTA has blossomed into a driving force, contributing to a plethora of enrichment programs and initiatives at our new site. Despite the remarkable progress, we remain rooted in the memory of our beautiful beginnings, cherishing the journey that has brought us to where we are today.
